The 2019 Constructing Our World conference will be held in Sydney, Australia at the Four Seasons Hotel. VISA APPLICATIONS

Under Australia’s universal visa system, all visitors to Australia must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Australia (other than New Zealand passport holders who will normally be granted a Special Category visa on arrival, provided they meet health and character requirements; and permanent residents of Norfolk Island who may be granted a Permanent Resident of Norfolk Island visa on arrival).

 

There are many visa options available to people wishing to visit Australia. The appropriate visa option will depend, amongst other things, on the person’s purpose for visiting Australia. To ensure you have the appropriate visa please visit this page at the Department of Home Affairs.

It is suggested that all visitors should apply for a visa at least two months prior to their intended date of departure, and four months prior for people with character or health concerns.

 

If you require assistance with your visa application please provide Conference Logistics with your passport details via email at  aib@conlog.com.au. These details will then be provided to the International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) at the Department of Immigration and Border Protection; however, you will need to make your own visa application through your nearest Australian Embassy.

 

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that participants take out their own general travel insurance. It is suggested that the insurance policy should also cover loss of fees/deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expenses. The organisers do not take responsibility for any delegate failing to insure.

 

Catering and Dietary Requirements

Morning and afternoon teas and lunches will be provided throughout the Conference days at the Four Seasons Hotel. If you have not already notified Conference Logistics of any special dietary requirements (eg. vegetarian), please do so as soon as possible by emailing aib@conlog.com.au.

Dietary requests will be catered for to the best of the venue’s ability. Individuals with severe allergies are requested to advise Conference Logistics of their requirements prior to the conference, and bring any allergy medication (EpiPen, Phenergan, etc.) as prescribed by your doctor to the conference and any associated function. Whilst due care is taken by the organisers and venue, individuals must take primary responsibility for their own health.

 

No Smoking Policy

All the rooms and event spaces for Constructing Our World 2019 are non-smoking.

Privacy

A list of participants will be produced which includes individuals’ details such as name, organisation, state. You will be asked for permission for your details to be included when you register.

The Constructing Our World 2019 Conference is being operated in accordance with the Global Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which came into effect on 25 May 2018.

Therefore, before you begin your registration, you will need to give consent for your data to be used in facilitating your event registration, as well as in the planning and implementation of the Conference (providing dietary requirements to conference venues and accommodation bookings details to the specified hotel for example).

This request for data consent is in accordance with GDPR and represents our commitment to protecting the privacy of all personal data you provide during the registration process. If you do not provide consent, you will unfortunately be unable to register for the Constructing Our World 2019 Conference.

Cancellation Policy

Delegates who find themselves unable to attend Constructing Our World 2019 after submitting their online registration are most welcome to nominate a substitute. All substitutions and cancellations must be made by email to aib@conlog.com.au.

Cancellations received before / on Thursday 12 August 2019 will be refunded, less an administration fee of AU$99. Cancellations received after this date are not refundable. This includes cancellation due to lack of visa approval.
Exceptions are at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
